13th Picture
The lights flipped on and Robyn, the pop singer, left the stage. Everyone cheered her on. People still were piling in for the headliner portion of the show. Alex and I left to grab a pizza, and right as we sat in our seats, the lights went low again. The cheers of thousands of people began to roar. The volume shook the building. As sounds got louder, the stage lights got brighter, and background music began to play. It was almost surreal! My heart started bumping to the beat of the background bass. My ears started to tingle, and I swear, for that one moments I was lifted into the air out of pure excitement. I felt as if my body was being pulled towards the stage. Then, all of a sudden, the music played loud and at once, I was back on the ground and jumping up and down. I was dancing in the stands right next to my best friend of five years. I look around and all there is, is me, alex, the lit up stage, and a sea of twinkling multi-colored lights. These man-made stars are swishing back and forth like waves. I'm in such a state, I don't even realize that I am screaming the words at the top of my lungs..."I hear Jerusalem bells-a-ringin'. Roman Calvary choirs are singing." Luckily, their voices, in the microphone, over power me and alex's blaring, off-key voices. Almost everyone in the gymnasium stands knew the lyrics and sang them like a prideful, national anthem. "There is no doubt, we have the best fans in the world!" he proclaimed over the microphone. This night was easily one of the best concerts I had ever attended in my entire life. That night will always bring a smile on any day.
